Passenger Volume of Rail Transit in First Half of 2011

With the improvement of rail transit network, there was a rapid growth of passenger volume in rail transit in the first half of 2011. The entering passenger volume increased by 19.38% and the transferring passenger volume by 21.02% when compared with 2010. These two types of growth made the passenger volume to rise successively. In the first half of the year, the total passenger volume delivered was 1.038 billion person x times, with daily average passenger volume 5.7373 million person x times, an increase of 20.08% YOY (the largest increase took place in Daxing Line (31.60%), followed by Airport Line and No.13 Line (more than 20%). The passenger volume in the first half of the year showed the following characteristics: lowest in January and February, rapidly growing in March, and stable in April to June.
